Day 1

Hello everyone! Today is the first day I've started this blog. I'm pretty random, so I'll prob end up commenting on everything and anything that crosses my mind. I currently live in Queens and work in Manhattan to give you some more information about myself. I'm an 80's baby, originally from Boston (GO PATS BABY!!!) and am in love with New York. Once I moved here, I truly felt like I belonged and didn't feel like an outcast. Hmmm... well currently I'm at work and just setting this up, so I'm sure they'll be more posts in the near future.
Alright folks, it's been fabulous chatting away on this blog thing. I think I'm really going to get the hang of it, or at least it's a really good outlet to a) pass the time and b) release my thoughts. Leaving work now, so everyone have a great Labor Day weekend holiday! be safe and relax :) Talk to you Tuesday! Loves, A

Food Obsessions

My best friend, Ateam, and I have food obsessions. Our daily conversations revolve around and she put it best, "what we want to eat, what we're going to eat, what we've eaten." and this is all true. I tend to get into food binge obsessions. not bulimic binges bc a) that's gross and b) i can't stand throwing up and c) my stomach would hurt; but foods that i'll be obsessed with and eat constantly for a period of time. as of last week, i had ended my cheeseburger and fries obsession. I think I had that same meal at least 3 times a week. I, luckily and for now, have a fast metabolism so it wasnt the fact of weight being an issue but the fact that I might suffer from a stroke or heart attack, so I stopped. Also the lure and satisfaction of it got old. Other food obsessions I've had: burritos (mmm that actually sounds really good right now), Coldstone's Coffee Lovers Ice cream but no almonds sub Snickers, and chocolate. There's much more but I have had so many i can't keep track. oh and they also tend to recycle each other, like i won't have a craving for any of it for a while and then one day, i'll want it again. Right now I don't have one. Yet.

Tienamen Square (I know I'm butchering the spelling). It was so hot when we went to China, optimal Summer heat time. but the heat doesn't bother me, personally I can't stand it when it's cold so i embrace the heat and humidity. But in Tienamen Square, there were no trees or shade, all open and barren so after a while i felt like Fiefel in American Tale, Fiefel goes west. "It's a mirage..."

In July, I went to China with my family. It was amazing and very interesting too. Everyone asks about the food, and you know, it really surprised me there. I thought the food would be good, like the way my mom makes it (she's the best cook in the world) but it was gross, for me at least. Really greasy and oily. Meat is expensive there so I came up with a theory that the Chinese add a lot of oil to their food to compensate for more calories. In addition there was rice constantly. I stopped eating rice the second week, I couldnt deal.
Above, that's me at the Great Wall in Beijing. I read in the NY times (or was it Yahoo?) that parts of the Great Wall are deteriotating bc of sand storms, pollution, and people. It's very unfortunate since it such an amazing piece of man made architecture. I can say that now I can climb any stair/mountain/high incline after climbing the Great Wall. Seriously though, once you walk the great wall, anything afterwards is cake. Sister and I had wobbly legs after walking down. The stairs are so steep and uneven you feel like you're going to fall back when you're walking up. But then, when you walk down, you feel like one wrong step and you'll be tumbling to your death. So needless to say, I was gripping onto the side for dear life- and I'm not afraid of heights at all.
Here's some more websites I constantly check in addition the aforementioned:

www.ybf.blogspot.com
www.theskinnywebsite.com
www.weather.com

yes, i put the weather on there. come on, who doesn't check the weather constantly. this is for the purpose of not only do i need an umbrella, but what wardrobe choices shall i make? and also shoe choice bc who wants to walk around manhattan with soggy feet? ewwwww.

Another great site for music (if you're at work and bored and need something to listen to) is
www.pandora.com
it's one of the best things ever, you give thumbs up or down for songs and then it chooses music for you based on what you rated. i think it's great, no commercials and i get hear music that i like and also havent heard in forever!
Last night was the last preseason game for the Pats. They played against the Giants, a team that I despise. Actually, I take that back, not despise but don't respect. eh, take that back again, despise, def. anyways, the pats won, 27-20. brady didn't play- he usually never plays the last preseason game. coach belichick, as the NY post says, "used the game as a glorified scrimmage." hahahaa I love reading that. the one good play that eli manning had was against our 2nd and 3rd string defense. Ah, i can't wait til Sept 9th. Roommate and I are going to see the pats play against the Jets. Many people tell me that it's not possible that i can like the pats and the jets, but you know what? i don't care. I know good football when I see it, and good management. the jets coach is eric mangini who was the defensive coordinator for the pats under belichick and then took the head coaching job of the jets last season. I like coach mangini, he seems to have turned the jets around. it goes: PATS numero uno, jets second in order of favorite football teams. roommate's number one is the 49ers, who for the last 8 years or so sucked, but now are looking up. i like them too, although there aren't too many football teams i don't like.
anyways, this is a very exciting time for me. i know, i get excited about the most mundane things.
FYI: I don't have a computer at home yet so all my posts are currently from work. Roommate and I constantly forgot to close the window in our apt when it rained, thus poor laptop would be subjected to pain and torture when drops of moisture would envelope it. In turn, laptop gave up and died. We're looking into getting an iMac but they're so freakin expensive, especially since the new ones came out. Why don't I just get an old(er) one? Um, bc a new one came out duh. and now i want the new one. so i have to wait until the finance are in order before i do so. Oh and the reason for me saying this is bc I won't have any posts until Tuesday, when I'm back at work.

Websites

I work at a fashion company, and currently by "work" i mean, create a blog, read books/newspapers, and constantly check my favorite websites. These are the ones I religiously check at least 30 times a day to see if there are any new posts:
oh and this is also the order I go in too

www.tmz.com
www.bricksandstonesgossip.com
www.perezhilton.com
www.espn.com

On perez he posted Britney's new leaked songs, Gimme me more and Cold like Fire. I can honestly say, as bat shit crazy as she is, I love those songs. But, it's not like I'm an expert or anything at all- if it sounds good and gets me dancing (which doesn't take much) then it's good in my book. I also have all her albums, I never was on Team Britney, always Team Christina (during the late 90's, early 00's) but I always loved Britney's albums. I feel, slightly, bad that she's got so many problems, but don't we all? and besides, it gives me something to read about every hour.

Just to give you an idea of what I look like. I have naturally jet black hair but the past six months have been highlighting it blonde. I always resisted doing that because I didn't want to look like some cheap chinese porn star with really fake hair, but then I figured, what the hell? i'm young and this is the time to do it. I won't be able to get away with this when I'm 45. What do you think? I really like blonde quite honestly. I never understood how some girls could get their nails done all the time (personally bc i cant grasp the concept of wasting that money on something that will just chip away or dent in the next 3 hours) but ever since I've been gettin my hair did, I can totally relate to the girls who love getting their hair did- I am officially a card carrying member of spending way too much money on hair but I love it.
Okay so i'm still trying to get a hang of this, that's why some things may seem out of order. Damn, sometimes i wish i was like my youngest brother and had the ambition to figure out how every little thing works and how to fix it. Needless to say, i am not like that. so deal.

On another note, here is a picture of (one of the many) two people I love to drool over: David Beckham and Reggie Bush. pure sexiness.
Yes! i figured it out, or maybe i'm just retarded and didn't look around the postings before i spoke too soon. i tend to do that. anyways, just to let you all know, i AM OBSESSED with the Pats. and no, I am not a band wagon fan. i have been through their trials and tribulations since 8th grade when i was delivering newspapers (yes, i had a paper route and was a newspaper girl- and a damn good one at that!) and Coach Parcells was coaching. Just to forewarn you, there will be lots of posts about the pats, especially this season: SUPERBOWL XLII!!!

Technology challenged

I think my title says it all no? hard to navigate this blog post thing but hopefully it'll get easier... now only to figure out how to post pictures...
